Letter Dr. Gustav Glück, Vienna 1921, is enclosed, in which he proposes an attribution to Johann Heinrich Wilhelm Tischbein (1751-1829).
We are grateful to Dr. Marianne Heinz, Kassel, for identifying the painting as a work by Johann Heinrich Tischbein the elder, called "Kasseler Tischbein", and her proposed dating (on the basis of professional photographs).
