The timeless fascination of Art Nouveau

Georg MINNE: The precious tenderness of the body

That which fascinated the Secession artists of the past is also greatly coveted by the collectors of today: the tension-filled expression of “lost in reflection” clearly resonated with collectors, as demonstrated by their eager bids for the extensive offerings of bronze and plaster sculptures by the Belgian artist George Minne. The large kneeling youth, which went for the hammer price of €60,000 / € 75,600, became the top lot of the auction!

As expected, Josef HOFFMANN, Kolo MOSER, Michael POWOLNY, and the coat dress from the Salon FLÖGE attracted broad interest and led to competitive bidding.
