Art Nouveau & Design
Art Nouveau & Design
regularly offers an excellent selection of items from the Wiener Werkstätte, art from around 1900 and the design of the 1950s and 1960s. The unique designs of Josef Hoffmann, Koloman Moser and Otto Prutscher for jewellery, centrepieces and glass are captivating because of their inventiveness and timeless forms. A special focus is also the period of expressive ceramics from the Wiener Werkstätte, in which artists such as Vally Wieselthier and Gudrun Baudisch created unusual small, clay sculptures with dazzling glazes. The still young history of design is very closely associated with architectural ideas, and we regularly present special pieces by Adolf Loos, Carl Witzmann, Oswald Haerdtl, Karl and Franz Hagenauer, among many others.
